Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Software Analyst to support a critical modernization initiative for Con Edison. This role is focused on data remediation and legacy system conversion, specifically migrating data from legacy mainframe environments to modern architectures. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing complex data remediation programs and SQL scripts required for system conversion and migration. This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite in Pearl River, NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement data remediation programs and SQL scripts for large-scale conversion initiatives.
- Analyze and interpret legacy system logic and complex business rules embedded in COBOL code.
- Perform comprehensive data mapping and manage workflow migration activities across systems.
- Produce accurate technical documentation for system integrators, developers, and business stakeholders.
- Support and enhance long-standing mainframe systems currently in production to ensure business continuity.
- Participate in onsite collaboration with technical project leads and cross-functional teams.
- Extract business rules from complex legacy code to facilitate modern system design.
Required Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including the development of complex stored procedures.
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL 6.4 and CICS TS.
- Expertise in DB2 (v12.1) and extensive experience with mainframe production environments.
- In-depth knowledge of mainframe tools including SAR View, VSAM, DFSORT, and IDCAMS.
- Proficiency in reporting and debugging tools such as QMF Reporting, SPUFI, File Manager, and CA Intertest.
- Proven experience in data mapping and legacy-to-modern data migration projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CICS Web Interface and Web services/API management.
- Knowledge of MQ or other messaging/queue technologies.
- Experience with SCANA application and work management system integrations.
- Utility industry workflow or utility work management experience.
- Familiarity with Java, C++, or Python.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Visio for technical presentations and diagramming.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
