Role Overview: o9 Demand Planning Functional Consultant
The o9 Demand Planning Functional Consultant is a critical role designed to bridge the gap between complex supply chain business requirements and technical execution on the o9 Digital Brain platform. As organizations move toward more resilient and data-driven supply chains, the need for experts who can navigate the nuances of demand forecasting, statistical modeling, and collaborative planning has never been higher. This position requires a deep understanding of how demand signals translate into actionable supply chain strategies, ensuring that the o9 platform is configured to provide maximum visibility and accuracy for global enterprises.
Core Responsibilities and Strategic Impact
In this role, you will lead the functional design and configuration of o9 Demand Planning solutions. This involves gathering and translating intricate business requirements into robust o9 planning models, hierarchies, and workflows. You will be responsible for configuring demand forecasting models, including the management of time buckets, calendars, and versioning to ensure the system reflects the reality of the business cycle. A significant portion of the role involves supporting advanced use cases such as statistical forecasting, causal forecasting, and demand sensing, which allow companies to react in real-time to market shifts.
Technical Configuration and Deployment
- Lead the functional design and configuration of o9 Demand Planning solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Gather and translate business requirements into o9 planning models, hierarchies, and workflows.
- Configure demand forecasting models, including time buckets, calendars, and versioning.
- Support statistical forecasting, causal forecasting, and demand sensing use cases to improve forecast accuracy.
- Enable collaborative demand planning through scenario modeling and what-if analysis.
- Define planning KPIs, alerts, and dashboards to track demand performance and provide executive visibility.
- Prepare functional specifications, solution design documents, and user stories for the development team.
- Support unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Assist with solution deployment, go-live planning, and hypercare support during the transition phase.
Data Integration and Analytics
Success in this role depends on the integrity of the data. You will partner with data teams to support data ingestion, validation, and reconciliation processes. This includes collaborating on integrations between o9 and various source systems such as ERP (SAP, Oracle), POS, CRM (Salesforce), and external market data sources. You will be responsible for supporting master data setup, including products, customers, locations, and complex hierarchies. Furthermore, you will validate forecast accuracy, bias, and performance metrics to ensure the model is delivering value to the business stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Support
Beyond technical configuration, you will act as a trusted advisor to business users. This involves providing L2/L3 functional support for demand planning issues and enhancements, performing root cause analysis for forecast deviations, and conducting end-user training. You will facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and maintain comprehensive documentation to ensure the long-term sustainability of the o9 implementation. Working within an Agile/Scrum delivery model, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain planning process.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
