Role Overview
K-Tek Resourcing LLC is seeking a Senior Jira Forge Developer for a long-term, 100% remote engagement. This role is designed for a high-level technical professional who can take full ownership of delivery within the Atlassian Cloud ecosystem. As organizations continue their aggressive migration to Jira Cloud, the ability to build robust, scalable extensions using the Forge framework has become a critical requirement. You will be responsible for designing and implementing custom solutions that enhance the functionality of Jira for enterprise-level clients.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Atlassian Forge Mastery: Strong hands-on experience in Forge development specifically for Jira Cloud. You must demonstrate senior-level delivery ownership, from initial concept to final deployment.
- Modern Frontend Stack: Proficiency in React combined with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for building out sophisticated User Interfaces (UX) within Forge-based plugins.
- Jira REST API & Integration: Extensive experience utilizing Jira REST APIs for complex automation, system integrations, and data extraction tasks. This includes working with custom workflows and external system syncs.
- Jira Administration Concepts: A deep working knowledge of Jira administration, including schemes, permissions, and issue types, to ensure that developed solutions are architecturally sound and maintainable within an enterprise environment.
- Engineering Discipline: Mastery of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Git-based development practices, including branching strategies and rigorous code check-in procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- App Development: Develop and enhance Jira Cloud apps and extensions using Forge to meet specific customer requirements. This includes creating custom plugins that leverage the Atlassian SDK where applicable.
- Data & Analytics Integration: Contribute to initiatives involving the synchronization of Jira data to external platforms like Snowflake, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- End-to-End Ownership: Own your deliverables from start to finish. This involves providing accurate estimations, executing code with high quality, and delivering within agreed sprint velocities.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to strict development guidelines to ensure quality compliance, minimizing the need for repeated peer review findings through self-testing and adherence to best practices.
- Support & Maintenance: Participate in project reviews, reporting, and administrative tasks. You will also provide first-line support for any issues related to the services and plugins you deliver.
Candidate Requirements
This position is open only to candidates with USC, Green Card, TN Visa, or E3 Visa status. We are looking for a developer with a strong background in programming beyond just JavaScript—exposure to Java, Groovy, or Python is highly desirable. Familiarity with relational database concepts (Postgres/MS SQL) and experience with Jira Cloud migration contexts will significantly distinguish top-tier candidates. This is a long-term contract role offering the flexibility of a fully remote work environment while demanding the discipline of a top-tier engineering firm.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
