Position Overview
Sysmind is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Appian Developer for a critical 6-month contract engagement located onsite in North Quincy, MA. This role is designed for a technical expert who can drive the development of sophisticated Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. The project involves pure development work, requiring a candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. As an Appian Developer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of complex workflows that integrate seamlessly with existing enterprise systems. This position requires a strong background in Java development and a deep understanding of Appian architecture and design patterns.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Appian BPM applications, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
- Utilize Java background to develop custom plugins and integrate Appian with external backend systems.
- Apply advanced Design Patterns to create scalable and maintainable BPM solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional technical designs.
- Perform hands-on development of Appian objects, including process models, records, reports, and sites.
- Ensure high-quality code through rigorous unit testing and participation in peer code reviews.
- Manage the deployment of Appian applications across different environments (Dev, Test, Prod).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Appian platform.
- Work effectively within a Global Delivery Model, coordinating with teams across different time zones.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers on the project.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of application architecture and development processes.
Technical Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in Appian Development with a solid foundation in Java.
- Must hold an L2 Appian Certification (Senior Developer level).
- Proven expertise in Appian BPM – Business Process Management concepts and implementation.
- Experience with Appian integration technologies, including Web Services, RDBMS, and API integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the Global Delivery Model.
- Strong understanding of relational database design and SQL scripting.
- Ability to design complex user interfaces using Appian SAIL.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
