Role Overview

The State of New Hampshire Department of Information Technology (DOIT) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Windows Administrator to join our dedicated in-house team. This position is critical for maintaining the integrity and security of the state’s identity and access management infrastructure. As a hybrid role based in Concord, NH, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite at least two days per week, providing essential support to various Executive Branch agencies. This role is ideal for an IT professional who thrives in a complex environment and is passionate about securing enterprise-level systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain user identities across Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory environments.
  • Administer secure user access to shared resources, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards including HIPAA, CJIS, PCI, FTI, and FERPA.
  • Oversee Microsoft Exchange Online support, including the management of email accounts, distribution lists, and shared mail resources.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and optimize identity management workflows.
  • Provide second-tier technical support for complex identity, permission, and network access issues.
  • Perform file recovery operations using Volume Shadow Services (VSS) and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the DOIT to triage and resolve Help Desk requests efficiently.
  • Document all processes, procedures, and standards to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess at least 4 years of experience in Windows Active Directory and Azure AD Identity Administration. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting (minimum 2 years) is required to drive automation and efficiency. Candidates should have a strong background in Microsoft Exchange Online and M365 Cloud solutions. Experience with networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, and IP is highly desired to troubleshoot connectivity-related access issues. Furthermore, a solid understanding of information security principles and file recovery mechanisms is essential for success in this role.

This is a hybrid position that demands a high level of professional communication and collaboration. You will be interacting with both technical teams and end-users to resolve critical support issues. The State of New Hampshire values local expertise; therefore, only candidates residing within a commutable distance to Concord, NH, will be considered. Compensation & Location

Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
