Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to lead the delivery of a cutting-edge Point of Sale (POS) platform for a major client in the pool and landscape industry. This is a high-impact, onsite role based in Dallas, TX, where you will be responsible for the product execution layer across the POS User Interface, Backend for Frontend (BFF), and domain microservices. Unlike traditional PO roles, this is a platform-centric position that requires a deep understanding of how various technical components integrate to deliver a seamless retail experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end POS product backlog, ensuring alignment with the broader business strategy.
- Translate complex business capabilities into detailed features, sub-features, and actionable user stories.
- Define and drive the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) scope, prioritization, and quarterly planning sessions.
- Collaborate closely with architecture teams to ensure that product requirements are technically feasible and scalable.
- Partner with store operations and key business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate product features.
- Support multi-squad delivery teams to ensure consistent roadmap execution and timely releases.
- Apply systems thinking to identify dependencies and risks across the platform ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will have over 7 years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, specifically within the retail or digital commerce sectors. Extensive experience with POS systems, retail platforms, or store operations is mandatory. You must demonstrate a strong ability to manage backlogs, decompose features, and plan long-term roadmaps. We are looking for a professional who excels in stakeholder management and possesses the ‘platform thinking’ necessary to navigate complex backend microservices and UI integrations.
Preferred Domain Knowledge
Candidates with specific knowledge in quote-to-order flows, credit-based purchasing, and inventory visibility will be highly prioritized. Understanding pricing and discount logic, fulfillment models, and store governance controls is also a significant advantage. This role requires a proactive individual who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that the final product meets the rigorous demands of a modern retail environment. Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
