Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled L2 Production Support Analyst for a long-term onsite contract in Frisco, TX. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise distributed applications and a strong background in middleware and data processing tools like Kafka, Cognos, and Abinitio. As an L2 analyst, you will be the second line of defense for critical production issues, ensuring that system downtime is minimized and performance is optimized. This position is ideal for a technical professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex architectural puzzles. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to maintain the health of a diverse technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 production support for mission-critical enterprise applications in a distributed environment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues across Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes, and Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Execute incident, change, and problem management processes using tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, or CA Service Desk.
- Maintain production run books and perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for all high-priority incidents.
- Collaborate with global delivery teams to ensure platform resiliency and availability across different time zones.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support patching and certification activities for top-tier clients.
- Implement plan reviews and change submissions to improve change success rates and system hygiene.
- Work with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Moog Soft to proactively identify potential failures.
Technical Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of specific experience with Kafka, Cognos, or Abinitio, and at least 4 years of experience in Unix/Windows environments. Proficiency with scheduling tools and databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra is required. You should have a strong grasp of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Red Hat Open Shift and Kubernetes. Experience with Java, JVM tuning, and middleware like Apigee is highly beneficial. Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices is expected, as is experience with version control tools like Git and Bitbucket.
Soft Skills and Environment
Beyond technical prowess, this role demands excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. You must be able to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work effectively within a Global Delivery model. The ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages will be a significant advantage. This is an onsite role in Frisco, TX, requiring a candidate who is local or willing to relocate, and who holds GC or USC status. Your contribution will directly impact the reliability of services provided to millions of users, making this a high-visibility and high-impact opportunity.
Operational Excellence
In the evolving landscape of 2026, production support has shifted from reactive firefighting to proactive site reliability engineering. As an L2 Analyst, you will be expected to contribute to this shift by identifying patterns in incidents and suggesting long-term fixes or automation opportunities. You will play a key role in the ‘Shift-Left’ strategy, working with developers to ensure that new releases are ‘support-ready’ and meet all operational standards. Your expertise in cloud-native technologies like Flink and Spark will be crucial as the organization migrates more workloads to the cloud. By ensuring that monitoring is robust and alerts are actionable, you will help reduce the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and improve the overall user experience. This role offers a unique vantage point into the entire software development lifecycle, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and technical advancement.
