Position Overview: Senior Data Engineer (Healthcare & Medicaid)
Agile Enterprise Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly specialized Data Engineer for a fully remote position supporting large-scale healthcare clients. In the evolving landscape of 2026, healthcare data engineering requires more than just technical skill; it requires a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and interoperability standards. This role is focused on building robust, scalable data pipelines that handle Medicaid, Claims, and Provider data. The successful candidate will be instrumental in transforming raw healthcare data into actionable insights, ensuring that our clients can provide better care through data-driven decision-making.
Core Technical Competencies
- Data Orchestration: Expert-level proficiency in building and managing efficient ETL pipelines using Databricks workflows and other modern orchestration frameworks.
- Cloud Data Warehousing: Extensive experience with Snowflake and AWS (specifically S3 and SQS) is required to manage vast amounts of structured and semi-structured healthcare data.
- Programming and Scripting: Advanced skills in Python, SQL, and PySpark are essential for data manipulation, analysis, and performance optimization.
- DevOps and CI/CD: Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code and GitLab CI/CD for automated deployment cycles is a must.
- Performance Tuning: You must be adept at query tuning and performance optimization within SQL and SparkSQL environments to handle high-volume data extracts.
Healthcare Domain and Compliance
This role demands a specialist who is well-versed in the nuances of healthcare data. You must have direct experience with FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and a comprehensive understanding of Medicaid and Claims processing. Working for a cloud-based data services provider to large healthcare clients means you will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Your ability to perform complex data mapping and analysis is critical to producing accurate client outputs that meet the rigorous standards of the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with clients and implementation teams to understand data distribution requirements. You will be responsible for building data distribution extracts and scripts from the ground up, ensuring they are optimized for performance and reliability. A significant portion of the role involves data analysis to ensure that mapping logic correctly reflects the business requirements of the healthcare providers and payers we serve. You will also be expected to stay abreast of emerging trends in healthcare informatics and cloud data technologies to continuously improve our data delivery systems.

Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
