Role Overview
The SAP FICO Lead will be a pivotal figure in a high-profile digital transformation project, specifically focusing on the migration from an on-premise SAP S/4HANA 2021 (SP3) environment to RISE with SAP on Microsoft Azure. This initiative also includes a critical upgrade to the S/4HANA 2025 version. The successful candidate will lead the functional design, testing, and stabilization phases, ensuring that Finance and Controlling processes are seamlessly transitioned and optimized for the new cloud-based infrastructure. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise in SAP modules and strong leadership skills to coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all SAP FICO-related activities during the S/4HANA upgrade and the migration to the RISE with SAP platform.
- Conduct comprehensive functional impact analysis for the S/4HANA 2025 upgrade, specifically targeting FI and CO modules.
- Design and implement remediation strategies for any functional gaps or issues identified during the upgrade process.
- Oversee configuration, enhancement, and data validation tasks to maintain financial data integrity throughout the migration.
- Drive the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, including the creation of test scripts, management of testing cycles, and resolution of defects.
- Coordinate closely with Basis, Technical (ABAP/Integration), and Business teams to ensure a synchronized cutover and go-live.
- Provide expert-level support during the post-go-live stabilization period, addressing any immediate functional issues and ensuring business continuity.
- Mentor junior consultants and provide guidance on best practices for SAP S/4HANA Finance.
Technical Requirements
- A minimum of 8 to 12 years of professional experience in SAP FICO consulting.
- Proven track record of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, including at least one full-cycle implementation or major upgrade.
- Deep expertise in Financial Accounting (FI) components: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
- Strong proficiency in Controlling (CO) components: Cost Center Accounting (CC), Profit Center Accounting (PC), and Internal Orders (IO).
- Prior experience working within the Public Sector or Healthcare industries is highly desirable, given the specific regulatory and operational requirements of these domains.
- Demonstrated experience with SAP S/4HANA upgrades or migrations to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Project Context and Collaboration
This project is part of a larger enterprise effort to modernize financial systems and leverage the scalability of the cloud. The SAP FICO Lead will work in a collaborative environment, interfacing with global teams to ensure that the migration aligns with broader corporate objectives. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial reporting requirements are met in the new environment and that the transition is transparent to the end-users. This role offers the opportunity to work with the latest SAP technologies, including S/4HANA 2025, and to play a lead role in one of the first major migrations to this version.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
