Role Overview
Ocean Blue Corp is currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Warrenville, IL. This position is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and security of our enterprise-level network environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, support, and management of Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls and F5 BIG-IP Load Balancers. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and provide comprehensive support for Palo Alto Firewalls and F5 BIG-IP (LTM) systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Execute complex network changes, including the implementation of security policies, NAT configurations, VIPs, pools, and SSL profiles.
- Conduct proactive monitoring, health checks, and capacity planning to prevent system bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot advanced network issues related to firewalls, routing, NAT, and general traffic flow across the enterprise.
- Engage in ITIL-based service management processes, specifically focusing on incident, change, and problem management.
- Manage software lifecycles by performing upgrades, backups, and failover testing for firewall and load balancer hardware.
- Collaborate with Tier 3 engineering teams, the Security Operations Center (SOC), and external customers to resolve high-priority issues.
- Develop and maintain detailed operational documentation, runbooks, and network diagrams.
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure outside of standard business hours.
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise setting.
- Deep expertise in Palo Alto Firewall administration and F5 BIG-IP Load Balancer management.
- Strong proficiency in TCP/IP protocols, routing, switching, and network security architecture.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and enterprise ticketing systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical documentation and team collaboration.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or CCNA.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA).
- F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA).
- ITIL Foundation Certification.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $118,000 – $152,000 per year (Estimated)
