Role Overview: L3 Network Implementation Engineer
TechEra Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced L3 Network Implementation Engineer to join our elite infrastructure team. This role is critical for the design, deployment, and optimization of next-generation network architectures across multiple strategic locations, including Milwaukee, WI, and Frisco, TX. As a Level 3 engineer, you will be the primary technical authority for complex network transformations, focusing heavily on Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) and advanced routing protocols.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- SD-WAN Architecture: Lead the end-to-end implementation of Versa SD-WAN solutions. This includes designing overlay and underlay networks, configuring SD-WAN controllers, and ensuring seamless integration with existing legacy infrastructure.
- Advanced Routing: Manage and optimize complex routing environments utilizing BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. You will be responsible for route redistribution, path selection optimization, and maintaining high availability across global data centers.
- Infrastructure Design: Translate business requirements into robust technical specifications for routers, switches, and security appliances. You will oversee the installation and configuration of high-end hardware in enterprise environments.
- Troubleshooting and Escalation: Serve as the final point of escalation for critical network outages. You will perform deep-packet analysis and utilize advanced diagnostic tools to resolve hardware and software issues that impact business continuity.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement firewall rules, VPN/VRF segments, and QoS policies that protect sensitive data while ensuring optimal application performance.
- Disaster Recovery: Lead DR testing and failover procedures from a WAN perspective, ensuring that the network remains resilient during catastrophic failures.
- Documentation and Mentorship: Maintain meticulous records of network diagrams, configuration standards, and change logs. You will also provide technical training and mentorship to L1 and L2 support staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 11 years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in Versa SD-WAN is strictly mandatory; candidates without this specific skill will not be considered.
- Extensive experience (7-10 years) with core routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale network migrations and hardware refreshes.
- Strong understanding of Change Management processes within a corporate ITIL framework.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Special Requirements
Versa SDWAN is a mandatory skill. Multiple locations available including WI, TX, GA, NJ, and NE.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
