Position Summary: Advanced Java J2EE Software Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Software Engineer specializing in Java J2EE and AWS cloud technologies for a critical onsite role in Plano, Texas. This position is a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement within a fast-paced, large-scale corporate environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing sophisticated software solutions, driving architectural design, and performing advanced technical troubleshooting. You will be expected to think beyond routine approaches to break down complex technical problems and build resilient, scalable systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Software Development: Create secure, high-quality production code using Java and J2EE. Maintain and optimize algorithms that run synchronously with enterprise systems.
- Architectural Design: Produce detailed architecture and design artifacts for complex applications. Ensure that all software code development adheres to established design constraints and security protocols.
- Data Visualization and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and synthesize large, diverse data sets. Develop visualizations and reporting tools to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify hidden patterns and problems within data and system performance. Use these insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and overall system architecture.
- Community Engagement: Contribute to software engineering communities of practice. Explore and integrate emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning into existing workflows.
- Team Culture: Actively contribute to a team culture rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must have formal training or certification in software engineering concepts along with 5+ years of applied experience. Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, and operational stability is mandatory. Technical proficiency must include Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and AWS services such as ECS/EKS and Fargate. Experience with Python, AWS Step Functions, and AWS Glue is highly desirable. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, applicant resiliency, and modern security practices. Experience working within the financial sector is a significant plus, as is demonstrated knowledge of cloud-native applications and machine learning integration.
Special Requirements
Contract to hire (6 months). Onsite requirement in Plano, TX. Financial background preferred.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
