Role Overview: Senior Cloud Platform Software Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Platform Software Engineer to join our dynamic cloud platform team in Scottsdale, Arizona. This onsite role is critical for building and maintaining the scalable, automated cloud solutions that empower our development teams to deliver high-quality software at speed. As a senior member of the team, you will combine deep software engineering fundamentals with extensive hands-on AWS experience and a robust DevOps mindset to drive innovation and efficiency across our cloud infrastructure.
Key Technical Requirements
- Programming Proficiency: Strong experience in Python is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate expertise in either JavaScript or TypeScript to support our diverse automation and application needs.
- AWS Cloud Services: You must have hands-on experience designing and building innovative solutions using a wide array of AWS services. This includes a deep understanding of how to architect for high availability, scalability, and security.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in at least one major IaC tool is required, such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining reusable infrastructure components.
- Database Knowledge: Familiarity with managed SQL and NoSQL databases is necessary to support modern application architectures.
- Architectural Expertise: Experience in architecting applications or platform solutions is a core requirement, ensuring that our systems are built on solid, future-proof foundations.
- Agile Methodology: You should be comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to continuous improvement and rapid delivery cycles.
Core Responsibilities and Expectations
- Build and Automate: You will focus on building and automating cloud-native solutions on AWS, reducing manual intervention and increasing system reliability.
- Reference Solutions: Architecting scalable, secure platform services and providing reference solutions for other engineering teams to follow.
- Tooling Development: Develop sophisticated automation and tooling using modern scripting languages to streamline internal processes.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with application teams to enable self-service cloud capabilities, fostering a culture of empowerment and technical excellence.
- Automated Testing: A significant portion of this role involves writing functions and scripts for automated testing to ensure the integrity of our cloud deployments.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and optimization.
- A strong background in platform engineering or DevOps.
- Deep knowledge of AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, and routing.
- Expertise in AWS IAM and security best practices.
- Experience with AWS Account Factory or Control Tower.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) or serverless architectures (Lambda).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
