Role Overview
Centraprise Corp is seeking a highly specialized StarRocks Database Expert to join our team for a critical contract engagement. This role is based in Irving, TX, with the flexibility for remote work. We are looking for a technical leader who can hit the ground running to improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our StarRocks database environment. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in OLAP database technologies and has a deep understanding of high-performance data warehousing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the performance tuning and optimization of StarRocks database clusters to meet demanding analytical workloads.
- Design and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies to ensure 24/7 data reliability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive observability frameworks to monitor database health, query performance, and resource utilization.
- Diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks within the database and underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage StarRocks deployments within Kubernetes clusters.
- Optimize columnar storage and indexing strategies to improve query latency and throughput.
- Provide technical guidance on OLAP database architecture and best practices to internal engineering teams.
- Ensure data integrity and security across all database environments.
- Participate in architectural reviews and contribute to the long-term data strategy of the organization.
Required Technical Skills
- Extensive expertise in StarRocks database administration and performance tuning.
- Deep understanding of OLAP database principles and columnar storage architectures.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes cluster management and containerized database deployments.
- Strong background in performance diagnosis and troubleshooting of distributed systems.
- Experience implementing robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) solutions.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for database monitoring.
- Knowledge of SQL optimization and advanced query execution plans.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $195,000 per year
