Position Summary
We are looking for a seasoned SQL DBA Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join our onsite team in Cincinnati, OH. This role is designed for a versatile IT professional who possesses a deep understanding of database administration combined with strong infrastructure support capabilities. You will be responsible for the health, performance, and security of our SQL Server environments while also supporting the underlying Windows and Linux operating systems. This is a high-impact role that requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and the ability to manage complex application delivery platforms like Citrix.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive SQL Server administration, including complex query optimization, performance tuning, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Manage and maintain database permissions and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Provide high-level support for Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring OS stability for database hosting.
- Oversee Citrix application management, including the publishing of applications, access control configuration, and end-to-end troubleshooting.
- Support Microsoft Access front-end applications that interface with SQL Server back-ends, ensuring seamless data flow and user experience.
- Coordinate with business users and cross-functional IT teams to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot complex, end-to-end issues that span across operating systems, applications, and database layers.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, recovery plans, and operational procedures.
Required Technical Skills
- 10+ years of professional experience in SQL Database Administration.
- Expertise in SQL Server (all modern versions) and T-SQL scripting.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) administration.
- Hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops for application delivery.
- Familiarity with legacy application support, specifically MS Access integration with SQL Server.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks at the database and OS levels.
Soft Skills and Environment
The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills, as this role involves significant interaction with various business units. You should be a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This is an onsite position in Cincinnati, requiring a consistent physical presence to collaborate with the local IT infrastructure team. Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
