Role Overview: Senior .NET + Azure Engineering Lead

As we move into 2026, the landscape of financial technology is undergoing a massive transformation. We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Senior .NET + Azure Engineering Lead to spearhead our Banking Platform & Cloud Modernization initiatives in Long Beach, CA. This hybrid role is designed for a technical leader who can bridge the gap between legacy stability and future-proof innovation. You will be responsible for stabilizing a robust on-premises Microsoft ecosystem while simultaneously architecting the migration to a high-performance Azure cloud environment.

Core Responsibilities and Technical Leadership

  • Cloud Modernization & Architecture: Lead the strategic transition from on-premise Windows Server/IIS environments to Azure-native services. You will architect full-stack solutions utilizing .NET 8/9, React, and Next.js, ensuring that all applications are built with a cloud-first mentality.
  • Engineering Excellence: Drive technical decision-making across the software development lifecycle. You will implement modern engineering best practices, including automated testing, comprehensive code reviews, and strict adherence to security protocols.
  • Operational Discipline: In a regulated banking environment, stability is paramount. You will lead incident response teams, perform deep-dive root-cause analyses, and optimize production performance across APIs and databases.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Foster a culture of technical excellence by mentoring junior and mid-level engineers. You will be a champion for continuous learning, particularly in emerging fields like Generative AI (GenAI) and its application within enterprise modernization.
  • DevOps & Security: Partner with DevOps teams to build sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. You will implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or Terraform to ensure reproducible and secure environments.

Technical Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a deep background in the Microsoft stack. You should have extensive experience with .NET/C#, SQL Server, and Active Directory. On the cloud side, we require proven expertise in Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Key Vault, and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). Familiarity with resiliency patterns and hybrid connectivity is essential for this modernization journey. Furthermore, experience in the banking sector or other highly regulated industries is a significant advantage, as you will need to navigate complex compliance and data protection requirements. We are looking for someone who is not just a coder, but a strategic thinker who understands how technology drives business value in the financial sector.

Compensation & Location
