Role Overview
We are seeking a highly specialized IFS Applications Consultant with a focus on Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), Scheduling, and Dispatch for a critical 12-month contract engagement in Berlin, CT. This role is pivotal for a major utility client undergoing a digital transformation of their field service operations. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical IFS configurations. In the 2026 landscape, the integration of real-time data and mobile efficiency is paramount, and this position sits at the heart of that evolution.
Technical Requirements and Expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with IFS Applications, specifically deep-dive knowledge of the MWM, Scheduling, and Dispatch modules.
- Advanced proficiency in integration technologies, including RESTful APIs, SOAP, Informatica, and MuleSoft, to ensure seamless data synchronization across the enterprise.
- Familiarity with complementary ecosystem platforms such as IBM Maximo, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and WAM Data Marts.
- Proven track record in Agile Scrum environments, demonstrating the ability to deliver iterative value in fast-paced project cycles.
- Preferred background in Gas Distribution or Leak Management processes, providing the domain context necessary for high-impact solution design.
- Strong understanding of middleware architecture and its role in connecting legacy systems with modern cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and enhance IFS MWM workflows, ensuring all required fields, business logic, and validation rules are strictly implemented.
- Develop and maintain complex integrations between IFS and external systems like Maximo and GIS to support a unified operational view.
- Lead technical participation in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and comprehensive retrospectives.
- Execute and oversee Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), with a focus on rapid defect resolution.
- Create high-quality technical documentation, including functional design documents, configuration specifications, and comprehensive support manuals.
- Provide expert-level support during deployment, cutover planning, and the critical post-go-live Hypercare phase to ensure operational continuity.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $178,000 per year (Estimated)
