Position Overview

As a Senior Pega Developer, you will be at the forefront of designing, building, and testing sophisticated web-based applications within the Application Managed Services (AMS) group. This role is specifically designed for a seasoned professional who can navigate the complexities of Pega PRPC and drive performance optimization across enterprise-level applications. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of web-based applications, from initial design and architectural planning to rigorous testing and deployment. The ideal candidate will not only possess deep technical expertise but also the leadership qualities necessary to mentor junior developers and influence technical strategy within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design, build, and test robust Pega-based web applications, ensuring they meet the specific needs of various site components.
  • Act as a technical lead, documenting intricate designs and specifications while researching the latest web content trends to keep applications current.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and project managers, to translate complex business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Innovate and implement user-friendly web interfaces using HTML5 and CSS3 to enhance the overall user experience (UX).
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging phases to ensure all deliverables meet the highest quality and performance standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Optimize data handling and application performance to ensure scalability and reliability in a production environment.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of core experience in Pega Software Application Development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Pega System Administration, including environment setup and maintenance.
  • Strong background in Full Stack Web Development, specifically with Java, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Extensive experience with Pega PRPC and performance tuning strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and integrate REST APIs and work with JSON data structures.
  • Familiarity with Application Managed Services (AMS) workflows and best practices.

Performance Tuning and Optimization

A critical component of this role involves the deep-dive analysis of application performance. You will be expected to identify bottlenecks within the Pega PRPC environment and implement sophisticated tuning strategies to ensure high availability and responsiveness. This includes optimizing database queries, managing memory usage, and refining the rule execution process. Your expertise will ensure that the applications can handle high volumes of traffic and data without compromising on speed or user experience.

Collaboration and Mentorship

Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a pillar of knowledge for the development team. You will lead code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help establish coding standards that align with industry best practices. By mentoring junior and mid-level developers, you will help build a more resilient and capable engineering organization. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders will also be vital in ensuring project alignment and success.
