Position Summary
The Senior Scrum Master is a pivotal leadership role responsible for guiding Agile development teams in the delivery of high-impact technology solutions. This role is specifically tailored for the financial services sector, requiring a deep understanding of the Bank’s product vision and strategic objectives. You will serve as a champion of Agile principles, driving best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, and significantly enhancing team performance through dedicated coaching and collaboration.
Core Responsibilities
- Educate and mentor teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, utilizing a variety of training techniques and practical tools.
- Provide direct mentorship to junior Scrum Masters and team members to strengthen the organization’s overall Agile maturity.
- Develop and execute strategies for enterprise-wide Agile adoption and cultural transformation.
- Implement and refine Agile processes to enhance collaboration, transparency, and delivery predictability.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and innovation within the development teams.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Scrum team-related projects and application lifecycles.
- Coordinate activities across multiple teams in a scaled Agile environment to ensure alignment with broader project goals.
- Lead by example, driving organizational change and ensuring Agile practices align with business processes and technologies.
- Partner with senior leadership to evolve and sustain Agile methodologies across the financial institution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or Accounting; a Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in project or product delivery.
- At least 3 years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master or 5+ years as a Project Manager in an Agile environment.
- Mandatory certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Advanced Scrum Master (A-CSM). Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-team projects within the financial domain.
- Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills.
- Technical exposure or prior programming experience is considered a significant advantage.
Work Environment
This position requires a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite in Columbia, SC. Candidates must be local to the Columbia area or willing to relocate. The role demands a high level of engagement with both technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of financial products.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
