The IT Support Engineer will be a pivotal member of the technical operations team in Cincinnati, OH. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive end-to-end IT support across diverse operating systems, including Windows Server and various Linux distributions, ensuring maximum uptime for business-critical services.
- Execute and manage SQL Server operations, including writing complex T-SQL queries, managing user permissions, and ensuring database connectivity across the network.
- Lead the critical migration project moving legacy MS Access front-end applications to robust SQL Server back-ends to improve data integrity and scalability.
- Administer Citrix environments, focusing on application publishing and access control to ensure seamless remote delivery for business users without requiring deep VDI engineering.
- Act as the primary backup for the Senior IT Engineer, participating in high-level architectural discussions and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business units to translate non-technical requirements into technical solutions and coordinate with IT partners for resolution.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing application stacks, ensuring high availability and performance optimization through proactive monitoring.
- Manage stakeholder expectations by providing clear communication regarding technical issues and resolution timelines.
Technical Environment
The successful candidate will work within a sophisticated ecosystem involving Windows and Linux servers, SQL Server databases, and Citrix virtualization. A significant portion of the role involves supporting the transition from MS Access to SQL Server, which requires a deep understanding of both legacy database structures and modern relational database management systems. Troubleshooting skills must extend from the hardware layer through the network and into the application layer.

Compensation & Location
