Position Summary
We are looking for an expert Senior Data Modeler to deliver a world-class data architecture for a large-scale enterprise. This role is critical in establishing robust data governance and enforcing best practices, policies, and procedures across the entire data landscape, whether on-premises or in the cloud. The position is based in Berkeley, NJ or Coral Springs, FL, and requires the candidate to be onsite from day one. With over 15 years of hands-on experience required, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing data assets for extremely performant Operational Data Stores and near real-time Data Warehouses. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical knowledge and the ability to lead complex data modeling sessions with various stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive ER (Entity Relationship), Logical, Physical, and Conceptual data models using industry-standard tools like Erwin.
- Drive the reuse of data and data models across the organization to preserve a single version of truth.
- Facilitate and lead data modeling sessions with business partners, IT engineers, developers, and BI teams to assess requirements and deliver design prototypes.
- Implement modern data design methodologies such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Microservices-based Architecture, and Data Mesh.
- Develop and maintain an evergreen Data Catalogue with robust metadata and end-to-end lineage using tools like Alation or Collibra.
- Perform expert SQL development and performance tuning in database technologies such as MongoDB and Oracle EXADATA.
- Build and optimize data pipelines in Snowflake, including writing stored procedures and establishing data shares.
- Utilize Python scripting to automate data governance, build ingestion interfaces, and create monitoring alerts.
- Design complex dashboards in Power BI and utilize Splunk for advanced data analysis and macro development.
- Reverse and forward engineer complex data flows to develop source-to-target and process mappings.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of hands-on experience with Data Modeling tools, specifically Erwin.
- 10+ years of experience in designing data assets for performant ODS and Data Warehouses using Kimball and Inmon practices.
- 10+ years of data analysis and profiling experience within the financial services sector (account, card, payment processing).
- Expertise in Snowflake development, including pipelines and performance tuning.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel (macros).
- Familiarity with industry reference frameworks such as BIAN, IBM Banking Model, or ISO20022.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
- Experience mentoring and coaching junior staff members.

You will work closely with Domain SMEs and Solution Architects to ensure that the data architecture supports the long-term scalability and agility of the business. This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and governance.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
