Position Summary: Frontend Lead (CMS & Ecommerce)
We are seeking a visionary Frontend Lead with specialized expertise in Amplience CMS or other enterprise-grade Ecommerce Content Management Systems. This is a long-term, onsite engagement based in San Francisco, CA, designed for a technical leader who thrives in high-scale, headless architecture environments. You will be responsible for the frontend technical roadmap, ensuring that our digital commerce platforms deliver exceptional performance, scalability, and user engagement. This role requires a deep understanding of how content flows from a headless CMS into a modern React-based frontend, utilizing the latest in API-first design and cloud-native infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Lead the architecture and development of frontend solutions using Amplience Dynamic Content and Dynamic Media.
- Define and implement robust content models that support multi-channel delivery and dynamic user experiences.
- Oversee the integration of headless CMS components with various ecommerce engines and third-party services.
- Develop custom integrations and middleware using JavaScript and Node.js to extend CMS capabilities.
- Architect and maintain high-performance APIs using REST and GraphQL to facilitate seamless data exchange.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Helm.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability strategies using Datadog, Splunk, and Grafana to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Drive CI/CD best practices using GitLab CI, Jenkins, and Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, conducting code reviews and promoting modern frontend engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues related to CMS delivery, caching, and frontend performance.
Required Technical Stack and Expertise
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js.
- Extensive experience with Amplience CMS or similar platforms like Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or Sitecore.
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Google Cloud Spanner.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as the primary cloud provider, with secondary knowledge of AWS/Azure.
- Proven experience with headless architecture, server-side rendering (SSR), and static site generation (SSG).
- Familiarity with modern build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and Git-based workflows.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques, including CDN configuration and image optimization.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year
