Role Overview
Scalable Systems Inc is looking for a seasoned IFS Application Technical Leader to drive technical excellence and delivery for our enterprise clients. This is a high-impact leadership role based in Schaumburg, IL, requiring a 100% onsite presence. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex solutions, managing an onshore/offshore model, and serving as a Solution Architect. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of code, the robustness of the architecture, and the successful implementation of IFS applications within the insurance domain. In 2026, the integration of legacy systems with modern cloud-native architectures is a primary challenge, and we need a leader who can navigate this complexity with ease.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to architectural standards.
- Act as a Solution Architect, designing scalable and efficient technical solutions that meet business requirements and future-proof our clients’ infrastructure.
- Manage and coordinate technical delivery across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring seamless collaboration, clear communication, and timely project completion.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and enforce best practices to maintain a high standard of code quality, security, and performance.
- Take ownership of delivery outcomes and maintain a strong customer-facing presence, acting as a primary technical point of contact for stakeholders.
- Design and implement architectures leveraging AWS Cloud services, APIs, and modern design patterns to enhance system flexibility and scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and ensure alignment with business goals and industry trends.
Strategic Technical Leadership
As a Technical Leader at Scalable Systems, you are expected to be a strategic partner to our clients. This involves not only managing the day-to-day technical tasks but also providing high-level guidance on how technology can drive business value. You will be responsible for identifying potential risks in the delivery process and implementing mitigation strategies. Your experience in managing onshore/offshore models will be vital in maintaining a 24/7 development cycle that maximizes productivity without sacrificing quality. You will also be a mentor to the technical staff, helping them grow their skills in modern technologies like AWS and Python while maintaining deep expertise in IFS applications.
Technical Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical leadership and software engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Deep expertise in IFS Application Technical components and end-to-end technical delivery in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a focus on AWS Cloud, API design, and modern microservices architecture.
- Strong background in code reviews, delivery ownership, and managing complex onshore/offshore development models.
- Educational background in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills and Domain Expertise
- Extensive experience within the Insurance Domain is highly preferred, including knowledge of policy management and claims processing systems.
- Proficiency in Python programming for automation and data processing tasks.
- Experience with modern front-end technologies including React, HTML5, and TypeScript to support full-stack initiatives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide technical teams and executive stakeholders.
This role requires a 100% onsite presence in Schaumburg, IL. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and taking full responsibility for technical delivery and customer satisfaction. Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
