Position Summary
The SAP STP (Source-to-Pay) Business Analyst is a pivotal role within the IT organization, responsible for bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical SAP solutions. Located in Chicago, IL, this hybrid position requires a professional who can navigate the intricacies of ERP applications while maintaining a strong focus on business process optimization. You will be tasked with configuring business processes, managing key integration points between modules, and ensuring the integrity of master data and transactional execution. This role demands a deep understanding of current business trends and technology developments to meet the evolving challenges of the modern enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
- Possess and apply deep ERP application knowledge in functional areas including Sourcing, Purchasing, and Planning.
- Configure business processes and manage integration points between modules to ensure seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
- Oversee Sourcing and Purchasing processes, including purchase order processing, stock transport orders, subcontracting, and inventory management.
- Manage release strategies, supplier evaluations, and critical master data such as vendor, material, and purchasing info records.
- Ensure robust integration between procurement functions and warehouse management, distribution, and finance modules.
- Lead Planning processes including demand planning, supply network planning, and S&OP within SAP IBP.
- Utilize statistical forecasting, consensus forecasting, and time-series-based planning to drive supply chain accuracy.
- Integrate data via CI-DS, S4 MRP, and PP/DS for short-term planning execution.
- Apply business intelligence tools like SAP BI, SAP ABAP Query, and SAP Report Writer for ad hoc analysis and process monitoring.
- Utilize desktop applications such as Visio for process flow diagrams and Excel/Access for large-scale data analysis.
- Elicit business requirements using advanced techniques like use cases, prototyping, and questionnaires.
- Perform financial acumen-based cost-benefit analysis for process enhancements.
- Communicate complex technical content to business users using common vocabulary, avoiding technical jargon.
Educational and Professional Requirements
Candidates must hold a BS/BA or equivalent business experience in a business-related discipline. An MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable. The role requires strong analytical skills to identify business needs and formulate viable alternative solutions. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are mandatory, including the ability to document complex processes using visual aids like decision tables. Fluency in English is a strict requirement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in hybrid environments and managing stakeholders across various levels of the organization. Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
