Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Python Developer for a critical 6-month engagement located in Brooklyn, NY. This role is designed for a technical expert who can execute creative software solutions, focusing on development, design, and complex technical troubleshooting. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be expected to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build robust solutions or break down intricate technical problems within the financial services sector.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, including end-to-end development, architectural design, and advanced technical troubleshooting.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code while performing rigorous peer reviews and debugging code written by other team members.
- Identify and implement opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring technical issues, thereby improving the overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical credentials.
- Assess the applicability of new technologies for use within existing systems and information architecture.
- Lead communities of practice across the software engineering department to drive awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Contribute actively to a team culture rooted in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Formal training or professional certification in software engineering concepts.
- Minimum of 5+ years of applied experience in a professional software engineering environment.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering complex system designs, application development, and comprehensive testing.
- Advanced proficiency in coding with both Java and Python.
- Deep understanding of automation and continuous delivery (CI/CD) methods.
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including security-first development practices.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial service industry and its specific IT systems and regulatory requirements.
- Practical experience with cloud-native development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive practical experience with Cloud Native technologies, specifically within the AWS ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks for data engineering and analytics.
- Experience in LLM (Large Language Model) Engineering and integration.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
