Role Overview: Senior ServiceNow Developer
We are seeking a seasoned ServiceNow Developer to join our engineering team in San Ramon, CA. This hybrid role is designed for a professional who excels at the intersection of platform architecture and custom application development. With the ServiceNow ecosystem evolving rapidly toward AI-driven automation in 2026, we need a developer who can not only write optimal code but also architect scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with the broader enterprise technology stack. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and platform maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom applications on the ServiceNow platform to meet specific business requirements and automate manual workflows.
- Build and maintain robust integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST APIs, SOAP, and other middleware technologies.
- Write high-quality, optimal code using JavaScript and ServiceNow-specific scripting languages (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, etc.).
- Lead platform upgrade initiatives, ensuring that all custom code and integrations remain functional and optimized for new ServiceNow releases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for platform enhancement and process improvement.
- Perform deep-dive technical analysis and troubleshooting for complex platform issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Stay abreast of the latest ServiceNow features and modules, providing recommendations on how to leverage new capabilities for business value.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to the establishment of coding standards and best practices within the ServiceNow team.
Technical Requirements
- A minimum of 9 years of overall industry experience, with at least 6 years dedicated to the ServiceNow platform.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with NOW platform development, including Service Portal and Flow Designer.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience building complex integrations using REST APIs and other web services.
- Proven track record of at least 2 years in Custom App development within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and a strong understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and XML.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on writing efficient, scalable code.
Work Environment and Location
This position is based in San Ramon, California, and follows a hybrid work model. Candidates must be able to work onsite as required while benefiting from the flexibility of remote work. Salary: $155,000 – $210,000 per year
