Role Overview: Senior SAP Business Analyst
We are seeking a highly strategic and consultative Senior SAP Business Analyst for a critical, business-facing role. This position is designed for a professional who excels at bridging the gap between complex financial business requirements and SAP S/4HANA capabilities. Unlike traditional SAP roles that focus heavily on backend configuration, this position is strictly business-facing. You will act as the primary liaison for the finance department, guiding them through a ground-zero S/4HANA implementation. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in financial reporting, margin analysis, and profitability analysis (CO-PA), with the ability to operate effectively in early-stage transformation environments characterized by ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact
- Lead significant discovery and definition work for a greenfield S/4HANA implementation, starting from ground zero.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable SAP functional specifications without performing technical configuration.
- Act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the business, ensuring that the future state S/4HANA design aligns perfectly with financial reporting needs.
- Identify critical gaps in current state processes and propose best-in-class SAP and finance practices to drive efficiency.
- Deep dive into CO-PA (Profitability Analysis) to ensure accurate margin analysis and downstream reporting integrity.
- Facilitate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions, ensuring the business stakeholders are fully aligned with the delivered solution.
- Manage stakeholder expectations across various finance functions, providing expert guidance on S/4HANA best practices.
- Bridge the transition from legacy financial reporting systems to the new S/4HANA architecture.
Required Qualifications and Domain Expertise
- Proven experience in a Senior SAP Business Analyst role with a focus on business-facing engagement rather than technical configuration.
- Mandatory experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, specifically in the Finance (FICO) domain.
- Deep subject matter expertise in Financial Reporting, Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), and Margin Analysis.
- Strong understanding of the downstream impacts of reporting changes on business operations and financial statements.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex SAP concepts to non-technical business leaders.
- Ability to thrive in a ‘ground zero’ environment where processes and requirements are not yet defined.
- A long-term mindset suitable for a 6-month contract-to-hire engagement.
- Must be a Green Card holder or US Citizen (GC/USC) as per client requirements.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $124,800 – $145,000 per year
