Role Overview: Test Automation Engineer (Payments)
VY Systems is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer with specialized experience in the Payments domain to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC. This is a critical role within our financial services division, focusing on the development and execution of automated testing strategies for complex payment processing systems. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our payment platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test frameworks using industry-standard tools such as Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber.
- Execute comprehensive automated test suites for payment processing applications, including credit/debit card transactions, ACH, and real-time payment systems.
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to define testable requirements and acceptance criteria in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured to validate backend services and integrations.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using Jira, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline by integrating automated tests into Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in test automation and the payments industry to drive innovation within the team.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in software test automation with a strong focus on Java or Python.
- Proven experience in the Payments domain, including knowledge of ISO 8583, PCI-DSS compliance, and payment gateway integrations.
- Expertise in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, including React UI components and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with database testing and SQL for data validation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
