Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Automation Tester to join our dynamic engineering team in Dallas, Texas. This is a critical role for a professional with over 12 years of experience in the software quality assurance domain. As an individual contributor reporting to a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding our catalog of native TV applications. This position is strictly onsite, requiring your presence in our Dallas office five days a week to foster a collaborative and high-impact development environment. Our team is dedicated to solving complex problems that directly influence business outcomes, and we are looking for a candidate who can bring both technical depth and a strategic mindset to our quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define Quality Standards: Collaborate with business stakeholders and partner management teams to establish clear quality standards and certification requirements for third-party integrations.
- Develop Comprehensive Test Plans: Create detailed test plans, scenarios, and procedures specifically tailored to validate partner applications against defined criteria, including functional, non-functional, security, and regression testing.
- Execute Certification Tests: Conduct manual and automated testing of partner applications in a dedicated testing environment to identify defects and ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Manage Defect Reporting: Document and report defects using tools like Jira, working closely with partner development teams to ensure clear communication and resolution through fix and re-test cycles.
- Partner Collaboration: Act as the primary QA point of contact for external partners, providing technical guidance, support, and feedback to help them meet certification requirements.
- Automate Testing Processes: Identify and implement opportunities for test automation to improve efficiency and repeatability using frameworks such as Selenium or Appium.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation including test cases, results, and certification status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Post-Certification Monitoring: Participate in monitoring live application performance and user feedback post-launch to address production issues or regressions.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop new and faster testing methods that will help the organization grow and scale its application catalog efficiently.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance within technology-driven environments.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in UI and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language development, specifically with Python and Java.
- Proven expertise in automation frameworks such as Selenium and Appium for mobile and web applications.
- Strong proficiency in test management and defect tracking systems like Jira.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with native TV application testing or similar embedded systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and risk assessment skills to identify potential bottlenecks early in the development cycle.
Preferred Qualifications and Accessibility
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and their implementation in digital products.
- Experience with assistive technologies and integrating digital accessibility into the QA process to support an inclusive culture.
- Certifications in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB) or specific programming languages will be considered a significant advantage.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
