Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Mid-Level Data Analyst to join our dynamic team in McLean, VA. This position is critical for supporting business decisions within the capital markets sector through advanced data interpretation and visualization. The successful candidate will work onsite five days a week, collaborating closely with stakeholders to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. This role requires a unique blend of technical proficiency in data tools and a deep understanding of financial instruments and trade lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret, and visualize large datasets to support strategic business decisions within capital markets processes.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Prepare clear, concise management reports and executive-level presentations to provide status updates and highlight key project milestones.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across both business and technical teams to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate project progress effectively.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and propose data-driven solutions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Support continuous process improvements by analyzing current workflows and recommending enhancements based on data findings.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of project requirements, changes, and outcomes for audit and knowledge-sharing purposes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of capital markets operations, products, and data flows, including settlements and market data.
  • Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to create intuitive dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Manage project tasks and timelines using software like JIRA or MS Project to ensure organizational transparency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field is strictly required.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience as a Data Analyst or Project Coordinator within the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of capital markets processes, including trade lifecycles, settlements, and financial instruments.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in preparing executive-level presentations using PowerPoint and advanced Excel functions.
  • Analytical mindset with a high degree of attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and project management software (JIRA, MS Project).
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be local to the VA, MD, or DC area.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $115,000 – $135,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: McLean, VA
