This is a critical role designed for a professional who excels in managing complex enterprise environments and ensuring the seamless operation of customer relationship management systems. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of the Dynamics CRM platform, from initial architecture and deployment to ongoing maintenance, optimization, and support. This position requires a hybrid work schedule, with four days per week onsite at the Philadelphia location, making it ideal for local candidates or those within a short commuting distance. You will work at the intersection of systems engineering and application support, bridging the gap between hardware infrastructure and software functionality to deliver a high-performing CRM experience for business users.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments, including both on-premises installations and Dynamics 365 Cloud/Hybrid configurations.
- Perform comprehensive system administration tasks such as environment refreshes, version upgrades, security patching, and routine health checks.
- Manage and optimize core CRM components, including application servers, SQL Server databases, and integration services.
- Configure and maintain load balancing, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure 24/7 system uptime.
- Collaborate with development teams to support DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment strategies.
- Monitor system performance and scalability, implementing proactive measures to prevent bottlenecks and downtime.
- Ensure all CRM infrastructure adheres to corporate security standards, managing role-based access control (RBAC) and authentication models.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the full stack, including networking, IIS, Active Directory, and database connectivity.
- Document system configurations, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans to maintain institutional knowledge.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff regarding CRM infrastructure best practices.
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or Systems Administrator with a deep focus on Microsoft Dynamics CRM (versions 2016, D365 CE, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft ecosystem, including Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
- Expertise in Internet Information Services (IIS) configuration and troubleshooting for web-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, including database administration, performance tuning, and SSRS/SSIS integration.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services, particularly those related to Dynamics 365 integration and identity management.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and security certificates (SSL/TLS) in an enterprise context.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, SolarWinds, or Azure Monitor) to track system health and performance.
- Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell or similar tools to improve operational efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as ‘Dynamics 365: Core Infrastructure’ or ‘Azure Solutions Architect’ are highly desirable.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (Finance, Healthcare, etc.) with strict compliance and data privacy requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in system reliability.
