Position Summary: AI Architect

We are seeking a visionary AI Architect with over 10 years of experience to lead the design and implementation of next-generation artificial intelligence solutions in San Diego, CA. This hybrid role is centered on the ATONIS architecture and requires a deep understanding of how AI can be integrated across the entire Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC). As an AI Architect, you will not only design technical frameworks but also establish the governance and security policies that will define the future of AI within the organization. This is a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to influence a high-impact Center of Excellence (CoE).

Key Responsibilities and Strategic Goals

  • End-to-End Architecture Design: You will be responsible for designing the end-to-end ATONIS architecture across all PDLC phases. This involves the strategic application of AI in requirements gathering, system design, coding, and automated testing to accelerate product delivery and improve quality.
  • Microservices and Infrastructure: Leverage your extensive experience in Application Microservices, Data Architecture, and Full-stack development. You will oversee the supporting infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes, and ensure the network infrastructure is optimized for high-performance AI workloads.
  • Vibe Coding Frameworks: Implement and optimize Vibe Coding Frameworks within the PDLC. You will lead the integration of AI Agentic frameworks with Vibe coding and other ecosystem tools such as Jira, DevOps toolchains, and ServiceNow.
  • AI Governance and Security: A critical component of this role is the establishment of a robust AI governance framework. You will define security policies, ethical AI guidelines, and compliance standards to ensure all AI implementations are secure, transparent, and aligned with corporate values.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead for the ATONIS Center of Excellence (CoE). You will mentor junior engineers, provide architectural oversight, and stay at the forefront of emerging AI trends to keep the organization competitive.
  • Platform Optimization: Configure and optimize the ATONIS platform specifically for client needs, designing sophisticated integration patterns that allow AI tools to communicate seamlessly with existing enterprise software.

Required Technical Expertise

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in software architecture, with at least 3-5 years focused specifically on AI/ML integration and large-scale system design.
  • Cloud and DevOps: Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • AI Frameworks: Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks, Large Language Models (LLMs), and automated coding assistants.
  • Full-Stack Proficiency: Ability to navigate complex data architectures and full-stack environments to ensure AI solutions are practical and scalable.

Work Environment and Expectations

This role is based in San Diego, CA, and follows a hybrid work model, requiring a balance of on-site collaboration and remote productivity. As a contract architect, you must be able to hit the ground running, quickly assessing the current PDLC ecosystem and identifying high-value opportunities for AI intervention. Your ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.

Special Requirements

Hybrid work model in San Diego, CA. 6-month contract duration. Domain restrictions: AI/ML, Microservices, PDLC Integration.
