Position Summary
DHJ Technology is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist for a critical 6-month contract engagement in Richmond, Virginia. This role is designed for a data professional who excels at transforming complex datasets into actionable business insights. The successful candidate will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining advanced BI solutions that support data-informed decision-making across a healthcare-oriented organization. This position requires a deep understanding of the Microsoft data stack and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement sophisticated Power BI dashboards and reports that visualize key business metrics, trends, and operational performance.
- Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to ensure efficient data retrieval and transformation from various source systems.
- Build and maintain robust ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to integrate data from disparate sources into centralized data warehouses.
- Perform dimensional modeling to support scalable and performant reporting structures.
- Work extensively with medical and healthcare data, ensuring that all data handling and reporting processes strictly adhere to HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Support Electronic Health Records (EHR) data requests and contribute to broader data initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
Technical Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate deep expertise in the Microsoft BI stack, specifically Power BI, T-SQL, and SSIS. A strong background in dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices is essential. Experience working within a healthcare environment is highly preferred, as the role involves significant interaction with medical data and EHR systems. You must possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding data security and regulatory compliance.
Work Environment and Duration
This is a 6-month contract position based in Richmond, VA. Due to the nature of the data and the collaborative requirements of the project, this role is restricted to local candidates in the Virginia area. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on high-impact data projects within the healthcare sector.
