Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IBM DB2 Database Administrator to join our onsite team in Alpharetta, GA. This critical role involves managing complex database environments, ensuring high availability, and driving operational excellence across our data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in IBM DB2 versions 10.5 and 11.1, with a proven track record of managing standalone, DPF, and HADR configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and manage IBM DB2 database servers in various environments, including standalone and high-availability setups.
- Execute complex database migrations using Dump/Load methodologies and Inplace Upgrades to ensure minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Optimize database performance through proactive monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of application-related performance bottlenecks.
- Implement and manage replication setups, specifically focusing on table-level Warm Standby MSA and associated tuning parameters.
- Perform essential maintenance tasks such as DBCC and Reorg to maintain database health and efficiency.
- Develop and modify automation scripts to streamline repetitive database administration tasks, enhancing overall team productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and application teams to resolve live production issues reported internally or by external clients.
- Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation, providing critical support during weekdays and weekends to ensure system uptime.
- Manage database access and security protocols, adhering to industry best practices for data protection and management.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding system health, project status, and potential risks to the database environment.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of IBM DB2 version 10.5 and 11.1.
- Hands-on experience with DPF (Database Partitioning Feature) and HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery).
- Proficiency in database migration techniques and performance tuning.
- Experience raising PMRs with IBM and driving them to successful resolution.
- Strong background in automation for database maintenance and operational tasks.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
