Role Overview

The IAM Consultant will serve as a critical technical lead within the Identity and Access Management (IAM) division, focusing on the architecture, implementation, and continuous optimization of the enterprise SSO/VIP Authentication Hub. This role is designed for a senior professional who understands that identity is the cornerstone of modern cybersecurity. You will be responsible for ensuring that thousands of enterprise users and hundreds of integrated applications have secure, seamless, and highly available access to the resources they need. This position combines high-level architectural strategy with hands-on technical execution, particularly in the realm of Java-based microservices development.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership

  • Platform Management: Oversee the health and performance of the SSO/VIP Authentication Hub, ensuring that all Single Sign-On (SSO) services meet strict SLA requirements for uptime and security.
  • Advanced L3 Support: Act as the final point of escalation for complex authentication issues. This involves performing deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) on federation failures, MFA synchronization issues, and token exchange errors across diverse enterprise environments.
  • Application Onboarding: Lead the technical integration of new internal and third-party applications into the SSO ecosystem. You will define the integration patterns, configure SAML/OIDC/OAuth protocols, and ensure compliance with identity governance policies.
  • System Evolution: Manage the lifecycle of the IAM platform, including major version upgrades, security patching, and performance tuning to maintain a robust security posture against emerging threats.
  • Security Collaboration: Work closely with Security Architects to implement Zero Trust principles and enhance multifactor authentication (MFA) mechanisms across the organization.

Development and Microservices Integration

  • Custom Engineering: Design and develop bespoke automation components and integration services using Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • API Development: Build and maintain high-performance RESTful APIs that support critical IAM workflows, such as automated user provisioning, real-time audit logging, and dynamic security policy enforcement.
  • DevOps Integration: Collaborate with infrastructure teams to containerize IAM microservices using Docker and manage deployments via Kubernetes, ensuring the platform can scale dynamically with user demand.
  • Plugin Architecture: Develop custom adapters and connectors to bridge the gap between legacy systems and modern SSO protocols.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical documentation, including detailed architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all IAM activities align with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, and SOX, providing necessary evidence for internal and external audits.

Special Requirements

Remote; Requires expertise in SSO/VIP and Java Microservices.
