Role Overview
AE Talents Inc is actively seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist for a 6+ month onsite engagement in Richmond, Virginia. This role is designed for a data professional who thrives in healthcare environments and possesses a deep understanding of the Microsoft data stack. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced BI solutions that empower the organization with actionable insights and data-driven decision-making capabilities. The healthcare industry is increasingly reliant on data to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency, and this role sits at the intersection of technology and clinical excellence. As a BI Specialist, you will work closely with medical professionals and administrative leaders to transform raw data into meaningful visualizations and reports. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, domain knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sophisticated Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key business metrics and clinical trends.
- Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
- Build and maintain robust ETL processes using SSIS to integrate data from disparate sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR) and financial systems.
- Work extensively with medical data, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and data security standards at all times.
- Support Electronic Health Records (EHR) data requests and participate in related data initiatives to improve data quality and accessibility.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting requirements that align with organizational goals.
- Perform dimensional modeling and data warehousing tasks to support scalable and performant BI solutions.
- Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Power BI, T-SQL, and SSIS, with a strong portfolio of delivered BI solutions.
- Strong experience with Microsoft data tools and the SQL Server ecosystem, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Visual Studio.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data sets into clear, actionable business insights that drive strategic decisions.
- Prior experience working with medical or healthcare data is highly preferred, including familiarity with EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.
- In-depth knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and best practices for handling Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Ability to work onsite in Richmond, VA, for the duration of the contract, participating in face-to-face meetings and collaborative sessions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is required.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
