Position Summary
GAC Solutions is seeking a Data Platform Architect specializing in Azure Databricks for a critical onsite role in Seattle, WA. This position involves leading the Data Platform Cloud architecture enablement for new capabilities, enhancements, and new data source integrations. Working closely with our client, Capgemini, you will be responsible for delivering Cloud and Security architecture patterns that comply with stringent cloud and security governance standards. The focus of this role is on enhancing platform features using the Databricks ecosystem, including Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing, Serverless compute, Lakehouse monitoring, and Workflow orchestration.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Enablement: Lead the design and implementation of cloud architecture patterns for data platforms. You will ensure that all new capabilities and data source integrations are scalable, secure, and efficient.
- Databricks Specialization: Drive the adoption and optimization of advanced Databricks features. This includes implementing Unity Catalog for unified governance, Delta Sharing for secure data exchange, and leveraging Serverless architectures to optimize costs and performance.
- Security & Governance: Develop and maintain security architecture patterns that align with corporate and industry standards. You will facilitate cloud and security reviews for each new platform enablement, ensuring compliance across all data layers.
- Collaboration: Work in strong collaboration with Cloud Services and GCS Architects to align data platform strategies with broader organizational cloud initiatives. You will act as a subject matter expert for Databricks Cloud Architecture.
- Monitoring & Orchestration: Implement robust Lakehouse monitoring solutions and sophisticated workflow orchestration to ensure the reliability and observability of data pipelines.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Azure ecosystem and extensive experience with Databricks. Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data engineering tasks is required. You should have a proven track record of designing and deploying complex data architectures in a cloud environment. Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data lakehouse principles is essential. Experience with security frameworks, identity management (IAM), and encryption in the cloud is highly valued. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to address the challenges of integrating diverse data sources into a unified platform.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $275,000 per year
