Position Summary: Data Analyst / Technical BSA
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Content Data Analyst / Technical Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our team in Irvine, CA. This onsite role is designed for a professional who thrives in data-heavy environments and possesses the technical acumen to bridge the gap between complex data engineering and strategic business requirements. You will play a pivotal role in supporting data-driven initiatives, ensuring that our data infrastructure and documentation are robust, scalable, and aligned with capital markets standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform deep-dive data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement within integration pipelines.
- Analyze legacy systems and current-state data flows to define transformation logic and mapping requirements for modern Lakehouse architectures.
- Facilitate requirements gathering workshops with stakeholders to document data contracts, reporting objectives, and quality rules.
- Translate high-level business needs into granular technical specifications, specifically focusing on capital markets domains such as portfolios, benchmarks, and risk factors.
- Document end-to-end data lineage and reconciliation logic to ensure data integrity across the enterprise.
- Manage the product backlog in an Agile environment, ensuring user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and traceable to business value.
- Standardize and reorganize complex documentation repositories in Confluence to improve knowledge sharing and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate integration outputs and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries and process maps that serve as the single source of truth for technical and business teams.
- Monitor data quality frameworks (DQF) and implement rules to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Technical BSA or Data Analyst in a data-intensive environment, preferably within Finance or Capital Markets.
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including Jira and Confluence for requirements management.
- Familiarity with modern data stack components such as Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Airflow.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, ETL/ELT processes, and data lineage concepts.
- Ability to create compelling data visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent organizational skills with a track record of managing complex documentation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related technical field.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $178,000 per year (Estimated)
