Role Overview: Senior .NET Architect
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior .NET Architect for a long-term, 30-month engagement in Menands, NY. This critical role involves spearheading the architecture, design, and development of complex enterprise applications and interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical background in the Microsoft ecosystem, specifically with .NET Core 8/10, and have a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable solutions in a government or large-scale corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Scope
- Application Architecture & Development: Lead the design and development of backend services and RESTful APIs using C#, .NET Core 8/10, and Entity Framework. You will be responsible for ensuring the architectural integrity of n-tier web deployments.
- Frontend Engineering: Architect and develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap, ensuring a seamless user experience across various platforms.
- Database Design & Optimization: Act as the primary architect for SQL Server database environments. This includes designing complex schemas, writing high-performance stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions to support relational data models.
- Reporting & ETL Workflows: Design and implement comprehensive reporting solutions using SSRS. You will also be responsible for developing sophisticated ETL packages using SSIS to automate data extraction, transformation, and transfer processes.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps. This includes automating builds, managing release pipelines, and maintaining work items within an Agile framework.
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed user guides, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications based on evolving business requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 84 months (7 years) of professional experience in application architecture and full-stack development.
- Extensive experience with .NET Core (versions 8 through 10), C#, and Entity Framework.
- Proven expertise in SQL Server database design and advanced T-SQL development.
- Significant experience in reporting (SSRS) and data integration (SSIS).
- At least 60 months of experience utilizing Azure DevOps for CI/CD and project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
Project Environment
This position is part of the HBITS (Hourly Based IT Services) program for New York State. The project has a projected duration of 30 months, offering significant stability. Candidates must be prepared for a ‘Day 1 onsite’ requirement in Menands, NY, and must be available for an in-person interview at the project location. This role demands a high level of professional communication and the ability to translate complex business needs into technical reality.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
