Role Overview: Senior Data Analyst
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Analyst with over 12 years of professional experience to join our dynamic team. This role is 100% remote, though candidates local to Dallas, Texas, or the broader Texas region are strongly preferred to facilitate occasional team meetups and alignment with Central Time Zone operations. As a senior leader in our data organization, you will be responsible for architecting complex data solutions, performing deep-dive analysis, and ensuring the integrity of our enterprise data ecosystems.
Technical Environment and Tools
- Database Management: Expert-level proficiency in SQL Developer (Oracle), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.
- Data Modeling: Extensive experience with Erwin or E-R Studio for designing robust data schemas.
- ETL/ELT Frameworks: Mastery of SSIS packages and Informatica for complex data integration workflows.
- Development Tools: Daily use of Visual Studio and Azure DevOps (ADO) for version control and project management.
- Legacy Systems: Familiarity with Mainframe-related tools and Mainframe SQL for legacy data extraction.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will apply advanced data analysis techniques to solve business problems. This includes writing high-performance SQL queries involving complex joins, subqueries, and stored procedures across multiple database languages including Postgres and Oracle. You will lead data migration projects, moving legacy data into modern cloud environments like Snowflake. A critical part of this role involves data modeling, where you will apply normalization and de-normalization strategies to optimize both OLTP and OLAP systems. You will also be responsible for implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) and managing Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1 and Type 2) to maintain historical data accuracy.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a data veteran who understands the nuances of the data lifecycle. You should have a proven track record of managing large-scale data migrations and a deep understanding of the differences between ETL and ELT architectures. Your ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications using DB Schema design is essential. With 12+ years of experience, you are expected to mentor junior analysts and drive best practices in data governance and Azure DevOps integration.
Special Requirements
100% remote; Local to Dallas, Texas or Texas candidates are preferred; 12+ years experience mandatory.
