Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary AI Tech Lead to spearhead our advanced analytics and Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives. This is a high-impact remote contract position requiring over 14 years of professional experience in the technology sector. As the AI Tech Lead, you will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap, architecting scalable AI systems, and ensuring the successful execution of complex predictive models. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge research and practical engineering, demanding a leader who can navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI and agentic workflows. You will be expected to drive innovation while maintaining a focus on production-grade stability and enterprise security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution of advanced analytics systems and Large Language Models (LLMs) at an enterprise scale.
- Design, develop, fine-tune, and optimize LLMs for diverse use cases including text generation, translation, summarization, and code generation.
- Build and orchestrate LLM-powered applications using advanced frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph to enable multi-step reasoning and agent-based workflows.
- Develop and deploy scalable AI solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), focusing on high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Design robust APIs and microservices using FastAPI to expose AI/ML capabilities to enterprise-level applications.
- Implement end-to-end model lifecycle management (MLOps), including training, evaluation, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Apply secure software development principles, ensuring robust authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place for all AI services.
- Perform rigorous code reviews and audits to maintain high engineering standards and governance compliance across the AI stack.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality data pipelines and solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, support effort estimation, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and data scientists.
Technical Requirements and Expertise
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the modern AI ecosystem. You must have extensive experience with Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and a proven track record of deploying models in production environments. Experience with vector databases (like Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate) and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures is highly desirable. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment where requirements can evolve based on technological breakthroughs. Leadership experience is mandatory, as you will be guiding the technical direction for a team of engineers and ensuring that the architecture supports long-term business goals. Knowledge of prompt engineering, model quantization, and distributed training techniques will be considered a significant advantage.
