Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Guidewire Technical Lead to join our consulting team in a hybrid capacity based in Hartford, CT, or Hunt Valley, MD. This role is designed for a technical expert who can lead complex Guidewire implementations and integrations for major insurance clients. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the architectural integrity, technical design, and successful delivery of Guidewire PolicyCenter solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of the Guidewire platform, specifically PolicyCenter, and the ability to mentor junior developers while ensuring high-quality code and adherence to industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and implementation of Guidewire PolicyCenter modules, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Oversee Guidewire integration projects, managing the exchange of data between Guidewire and external systems.
  • Utilize Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD) to streamline product configuration and deployment.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of Guidewire developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate complex insurance requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Maintain and update Guidewire certifications to stay current with the latest platform versions and features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Guidewire ecosystem.
  • Ensure the hybrid work model is effectively utilized for collaboration while maintaining high individual output.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term technical roadmap for Guidewire implementations.

Technical Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter (Expert/P4 level).
  • At least 5 years of experience in Guidewire Integration.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD).
  • Must hold an Active Guidewire Certification.
  • Strong proficiency in GOSU programming and Guidewire configuration.
  • Experience with Java, XML, and web services (REST/SOAP).
  • Solid understanding of the P&C insurance industry and policy lifecycle.

Professional Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading technical teams in a consulting or corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, requiring local residency in Hartford, CT, or Hunt Valley, MD.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US (H1B, H4EAD, and USC candidates are welcome).

Special Requirements

Visa: H1B, H4EAD & USC; Hybrid – Need Only Locals; Guidewire Active Certification required.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $170,000 – $220,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Hartford, CT
