Role Overview
K&K Global Talent Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer for a long-term contract position based onsite in Dallas, TX. This role is designed for a seasoned developer with 6 to 8 years of professional experience in building robust backend applications and scalable APIs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Ruby on Rails framework or a strong background in Python coupled with a willingness to transition into a Rails-centric environment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain high-performance web applications using the Ruby on Rails framework.
- Design and implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs to support various frontend and mobile integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following industry best practices and design patterns.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality features.
- Perform thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and mentor junior developers within the team.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and complex bugs to optimize application speed and reliability.
- Support regular release cycles and contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines.
- Upskill and adapt to new technologies, specifically bridging the gap between Python and Ruby on Rails as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6-8 years of professional software development experience with a focus on backend systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in Ruby on Rails or significant experience in Python with a commitment to learning Rails.
- Proven track record of developing and supporting complex APIs in a production environment.
- Strong experience with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
- Proficiency with version control systems, primarily Git, and familiarity with CI/CD workflows.
- Solid understanding of unit testing frameworks and a commitment to test-driven development (TDD).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, onsite environment in Dallas.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
