Role Overview

Aptiva Corp is currently seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst with a specialized focus on the Banking domain for a long-term, 12-month contract engagement. Located in the thriving financial technology hub of Alpharetta, GA, this onsite position is designed for a professional who can bridge the gap between complex financial data structures and strategic business objectives. As the banking industry continues to evolve in 2026, the need for precise data mapping and quality assessment has never been more critical. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes projects involving data migration, integration, and the application of advanced analytics within a major financial institution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders to identify, define, and document intricate data requirements tailored to banking operations and regulatory standards.
  • Work alongside data architects and senior analysts to develop, maintain, and optimize data mapping documentation that ensures seamless interoperability between legacy systems and modern cloud platforms.
  • Execute comprehensive data quality assessments, identifying inconsistencies, anomalies, and potential risks within financial datasets.
  • Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis on complex data issues, providing technical resolutions and strategic recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Support large-scale data migration and integration initiatives, ensuring that data integrity is preserved throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Operate effectively within an Agile product development environment, managing stakeholder expectations through clear prioritization and the translation of business needs into technical specifications.
  • Apply design thinking methodologies to create user-centric, iterative data solutions that align with the organization’s long-term strategic goals.
  • Act as a vital liaison between business units and engineering teams, ensuring total alignment on solution design, delivery timelines, and expected business outcomes.
  • Participate in all standard Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including user stories, process flow diagrams, use cases, and rigorous acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate testing and validation protocols early in the development process, fostering a culture of quality and precision.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases, tracking defects and collaborating with QA teams to ensure timely and effective resolutions.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3+ years of dedicated experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst, specifically within the financial services or banking sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, data manipulation, and performance tuning.
  • Strong command of Unix CLI and advanced Microsoft Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Proven track record of success in Agile product delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to use design thinking to solve complex financial data problems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to data accuracy and governance.
  • Experience with modern data tools such as Snowflake, Tableau, or Dataiku is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI applications to enhance data analysis and user experience is a significant plus in the current 2026 market.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and compliance standards relevant to the banking industry.

Professional Environment

This position requires a local candidate in the Alpharetta, GA area who can commit to an onsite presence. The project duration is slated for 12 months, providing a stable and challenging environment for a senior professional to make a lasting impact on the client’s data infrastructure. Candidates must be prepared to provide Passport Numbers for H1B verification as part of the mandatory screening process.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $75 – $95 per year (Estimated)
