Position Summary
Novia Infotech is seeking an experienced Solution Architect for a high-impact contract role in Las Vegas, NV. This position requires a professional who can create end-to-end solution architectures, specifically focusing on API and microservice designs within an AWS environment. The successful candidate will decompose complex systems into manageable domains, define agile delivery roadmaps, and lead implementation teams to success. This is a fully on-site role from day one, requiring a strong physical presence and collaborative mindset.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and drive the technology vision and strategy for assigned business domains.
- Conduct holistic solution analysis, design, and planning for cloud-native applications.
- Act as the primary point of contact between IT departments and business stakeholders.
- Define and design REST-based microservice APIs for critical business capabilities.
- Create Epics and user stories to provide clear architectural guidance for development teams.
- Lead cross-functional implementation teams and ensure alignment with the overall architecture.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering Managers to shape product roadmaps.
- Perform Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches.
- Promote the reuse of solutions through inner-sourcing and shared architecture practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to drive cloud and microservices adoption across the organization.
Technical Expertise Required
- Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Deep expertise in AWS services and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
- Solid understanding of DevOps processes and CI/CD toolchains.
- Knowledge of software design principles and major architecture patterns (e.g., Event-Driven, Hexagonal).
- Experience with Agile and Lean delivery methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of overall IT experience with deep hands-on solution design.
- At least 6-8 years specifically in a Solution Architecture role covering API design and domain decomposition.
- Proven ability to lead implementation teams in a global organization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical proposals to diverse audiences.
Special Requirements
Fully On-Site from Day 1; 12+ Months Duration.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year
