Position Overview
The Solution Architect / Senior Security Developer role in San Francisco is a premier opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the security strategy for a major enterprise. In the rapidly evolving landscape of 2026, security is no longer an afterthought but a foundational element of all technology solutions. This role demands a visionary who can design and architect systems that are not only secure but also resilient and scalable. The architect will be responsible for the end-to-end security posture of various initiatives, ensuring that every component, from the user interface to the backend database, is protected against emerging threats. A primary focus will be on AWS cloud environments, where the architect will leverage advanced services to implement identity management, data encryption, and network security. The role involves a high degree of technical leadership, as the architect will be expected to guide junior developers and collaborate with other architects to ensure a cohesive security strategy across the organization. This includes conducting regular architecture reviews and providing expert advice on complex technical matters. The architect will also be responsible for conducting Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate new security tools and technologies, defining the success criteria and determining how these tools can be integrated into the existing infrastructure. Documentation is a key part of the role, as the architect must create and maintain detailed design patterns and standards that can be followed by development teams. This ensures that security is built into the development lifecycle from the very beginning, a practice often referred to as DevSecOps. The architect will also work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure that the proposed solutions meet their needs while adhering to the organization’s governance and compliance standards.
Strategic Impact and Technical Excellence
In the heart of San Francisco’s tech sector, the Solution Architect will be at the forefront of innovation. The role requires a deep understanding of the Technical Architecture Framework (TAF) and the ability to influence IT partners to adopt best practices. The architect must be proficient in a wide range of security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) platforms. Experience with system integration is crucial, as the architect will often be tasked with connecting disparate systems in a secure manner. This includes first-time deployments of new technologies where no established patterns exist. The architect must be able to think critically and solve complex problems under pressure, especially during security incidents or when faced with tight project deadlines. The role also requires excellent communication skills, as the architect will need to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and advocate for security investments. With 8-10 years of experience, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful security projects in large-scale environments. This 6-month contract offers a competitive rate and the chance to work on high-profile projects that will define the future of the organization’s security infrastructure. The architect will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence. Key responsibilities include leading the design and development of enterprise security solutions, architecting integrated and reliable solutions, and conducting feasibility studies. The candidate must ensure all solutions align with the organization’s Technical Architecture Framework (TAF), policies, and governance standards. Required skills include Enterprise Security Architecture, AWS Cloud Architecture, and Technical Leadership. Preferred qualifications include strong experience designing security solutions in AWS cloud environments and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
Special Requirements
AWS Cloud Architecture focus. Compliance with Technical Architecture Framework (TAF). 6 Months Contract.
