Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Administrator/Developer for a critical 4-month contract engagement with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) in Raleigh, NC. This position is pivotal in supporting the state’s implementation and optimization of its Customer Service Management (CSM) system. The successful candidate will work within a matrix reporting environment, managing multiple work streams and supporting several initiatives simultaneously under the guidance of the ServiceNow platform owner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the ServiceNow platform specifically across the Customer Service Management (CSM) application suite.
  • Perform essential platform enhancements, upgrades, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Strictly adhere to ServiceNow best practices and agency-defined standards, ensuring full FedRamp compliance.
  • Manage and execute enhancement requests, developing custom solutions within the CSM application.
  • Collaborate with the broader development team on next-stage process improvements and platform evolution.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into technical documentation and functional code.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct code analysis, and implement optimizations.
  • Establish user journeys and create detailed user stories to support the design and configuration of CSM modules.
  • Engage stakeholders through joint design sessions and iterative configuration reviews.
  • Proactively research and suggest enhancements to existing engagements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement bug fixes for issues identified in the ServiceNow production environment.
  • Execute data mapping and perform bulk data imports or updates as required by the business.

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in CSM technology, specifically focused on ServiceNow administration and development.
  • Proven experience in designing and deploying web-based end-user self-service portals.
  • Advanced knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, HTML, XML, and Web Services (REST/SOAP).
  • Hands-on expertise with ServiceNow forms, fields, views, lists, UI policies, UI actions, and both client and server-side scripting.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with external tools, including monitoring, alerting, and federated CI data sources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within the governmental sector (local, state, or federal).
  • Successful track record of implementing ServiceNow CSM applications leveraging the standard CSM framework.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives for IT processes and services.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance meeting FedRamp administration standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce unambiguous and accurate interpretations of complex data.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
