Role Overview
CloudThink Tech Inc is currently seeking 3-4 highly skilled Backend Software Engineers to join a mission-critical project for a Tier 1 Telecommunications carrier. This position is based in Middletown, NJ, and requires a hybrid work schedule with at least three days on-site per week. We are looking for engineers who possess a deep, fundamental understanding of how wireless networks operate, beyond just high-level software development. The ideal candidate will have a background in large-scale distributed systems and a proven track record within the telecom industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Python and Java.
- Architect and implement microservices within a distributed systems environment to support wireless network operations.
- Apply expert-level knowledge of networking layers (Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4) to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with network architects to ensure software solutions align with Tier 1 carrier infrastructure requirements.
- Utilize Temporal workflow orchestration frameworks to manage complex, long-running business processes and stateful workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues related to network latency, throughput, and distributed state management.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile sprint planning to drive continuous improvement.
Technical Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, scripting, and data processing.
- Solid proficiency in Java, particularly within the context of enterprise-grade distributed systems.
- Extensive experience building and scaling microservices architectures.
- Must have direct experience working with a Tier 1 Telecommunications carrier (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile).
- In-depth working knowledge of the OSI model, specifically Layers 2 through 4.
- Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration frameworks is considered a major bonus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on rapid deployment and system stability.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Location: Middletown, NJ (Candidates must be local or willing to relocate immediately).
- Schedule: On-site at least 3 days per week.
- Visa Policy: Open to all visa types (Any Visa will work).
