Role Overview: Java Full Stack Developer
Procorp Systems is seeking a seasoned Java Full Stack Developer for a high-impact, 12-month contract engagement with our premier financial services client, Morgan Stanley, located in the heart of New York City. This is a critical role requiring a professional who can hit the ground running from Day 1 in an onsite capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise-grade applications, ensuring they meet the rigorous performance and security standards required by a global financial institution. In this role, you will bridge the gap between backend logic and frontend user experience, contributing to a high-performance ecosystem that powers critical financial operations.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of robust, full-stack application architectures that support high-frequency financial transactions and data processing.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize application performance, focusing on low-latency response times and high scalability to handle market volatility.
- Security & Compliance: Implement advanced security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and API governance, ensuring all development adheres to strict financial industry regulations.
- Microservices Development: Build and maintain a suite of microservices using Spring Boot, focusing on modularity, service discovery, and fault tolerance.
- Frontend Excellence: Develop intuitive and responsive user interfaces using modern frameworks like Angular or React, ensuring a seamless experience for internal traders and external clients.
- Database Management: Design and manage complex data schemas across both SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) environments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software through Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Required Technical Qualifications
- Java Mastery: Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in Java development, with deep expertise in Java 11/17+ features and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security).
- Frontend Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, specifically Angular (v12+) or React.js, including state management (Redux/NgRx).
- Microservices Architecture: Proven track record of designing and deploying microservices-based systems in a production environment.
- Data Layer: Expert knowledge of relational database design and optimization, as well as experience with distributed caching and NoSQL solutions.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Selenium).
Preferred Skills and Experience
- AI/ML Integration: Experience or strong interest in integrating Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models into existing application workflows to enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Technical Leadership: Ability to mentor junior developers and provide architectural guidance across multiple workstreams.
- Cloud-Native Development: Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly in the context of hybrid cloud financial environments.
- Financial Domain Knowledge: Previous experience working within investment banking or fintech is highly desirable.
Work Environment and Interview Process
This position is strictly onsite in New York City. Candidates must be prepared to work from the office starting on their first day. The interview process is rigorous and includes a mandatory face-to-face interview at the NYC location. We are looking for local candidates or those within a short commuting distance who can commit to the 12-month duration of this contract. Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
