Role Overview: Senior Data Architect

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Data Architect to join a dynamic team in Denver, CO. We are seeking a seasoned professional with a profound understanding of large and complex database management systems and a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data models and ETL processes. This is an onsite role, and candidates must be local to Denver, CO, with a demonstrated history of project work within the state of Colorado.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures for large and complex database management systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and optimal performance across various platforms.
  • Design, implement, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate seamless data integration from diverse sources into data warehouses.
  • Oversee data governance initiatives, establishing policies and procedures for data quality management, metadata management, and data security.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, data scientists, and other IT professionals to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Provide expert guidance on database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Implement automation strategies for data processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention, guaranteeing data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture, data models, ETL processes, and data governance policies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and trends, particularly in cloud-based data integration solutions like Azure and Snowflake, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
  • Champion data visualization and reporting best practices, working with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms to create insightful dashboards and reports.
  • Mentor junior data professionals and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the data team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy and security regulations.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 14 years of extensive experience with large and complex database management systems.
  • At least 14 years of experience specifically as a data architect or senior data analyst, demonstrating comprehensive expertise in data model design, implementation, and maintenance, as well as ETL processes.
  • Over 10 years of broad experience working with various database management systems, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2, and proficiency with a range of data integration tools.
  • A strong background in financial data systems, encompassing deep knowledge of data modeling, data governance frameworks, and robust data quality management practices.
  • Proven, hands-on experience with ETL tools, data warehousing concepts, and the successful automation of data processes to ensure the highest levels of data accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Demonstrated experience in data visualization and reporting best practices, coupled with familiarity with industry-leading tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or other similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud-based data integration solutions, including platforms like Azure or Snowflake, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced data integration platforms such as Informatica, Cloud Data Governance and Catalog, or Cloud Data Integration.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex business problems and translate them into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with both highly technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.

Location and Project Specifics:

This position is strictly for candidates local to Denver, CO. A critical requirement for this role is that the candidate must have completed at least one significant project within the state of Colorado, demonstrating local experience and understanding of regional business contexts. This is an onsite role, emphasizing the need for local presence and engagement with the team. Compensation & Location

Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
